I Leica You

It seems as if photography's been the rage for the last couple of years (?) or so and I've never really joined the bandwagon (sure, I take vanity-induced self-portraits and the occasional group photos using your everyday point-and-shoot digicam) of wannabe photographers with their D-SLRs perpetually set to automatic. I've never seen myself as a heavy camera-touting person (besides, my hands are too small to carry something so bulky) and I couldn't imagine myself taking pictures of rocks, flies, or whatever it is that photographers take pictures of. I wasn't just interested. Period.

But all that changed when I saw (and bought) this:

I'm a fan of anything vintage and this rangefinder sure looks gorgeous! I like its clean lines and the fact that it doesn't look as complicated to use as a D-SLR camera. It's not bulky and is as light as a digicam so I can take it anywhere with me. In fact, I've been carrying it in my bag from the moment I bought it. In terms of picture quality, it can have a D-SLR-ish effect to it which is perfect because it means I can take great pictures without having to fiddle with too many manual settings. Yes, I'm guilty of taking pictures of inanimate, random objects at the moment. I hate to admit it, but I'm now your average shutterbug!
